British Swim School of St. John's Northwestern Academies

We just did a free class to train new teachers at 5:30pm. It was awesome!! The man who was training got my daughter to tread water, back float solo, and jump in by herself. There were even points when she was crying about being scared but the teachers just kept having her do it and by the end she was so happy and proud of herself. After the training class we had our normally scheduled paid class. It was a teacher we've had for the last weeks, and it was a completely different experience. She spent 5 straight minutes (I timed it) negotiating with my daughter about jumping in (which she had just done totally fine minutes before), and later on skipped her entirely because she didn't want to jump. In the training class she was in the water 7-8 times, but in this class she only went in 3 times, and was babied and not challenged at all. Ever since we got this teacher it has been like this, where minutes go by while she negotiates with the kids and let's them dictate what they're going to do. It's insane to me that my daughter was a totally different swimmer between the two classes. I'm not going to be sending her to swim lessons anymore if we are going to keep getting this teacher. I can get done way more at the YMCA than with this teacher. The man in training got my daughter to accomplish more in 30 minutes than I've seen the last 6 months of paying. There's no way I'm going to keep paying for a teacher who spends more time talking to my daughter than swimming when I've seen just how far she can go if challenged and is made to do things even if they are scary.

We love British Swim School at Delafield! My 6 month old loves the water and I can’t wait to see her experience it more. The facility is great and the staff/instructors are great, too!

Great swim school for even the little ones- We will be back come spring and cant wait. Very friendly and knowledgeable instructors. highly recommend.

We’ve seen more progress in 3 weeks at BSS with our 4yo than in 3 years at another program. Every instructor that has interacted with our son has been so great, even the ones in training!

Our two kids (7 & 4) have been working with BSS (at St Johns, Delafield) for nearly 3 years. They love it and look forward to it weekly. They take pride in mastering skills and moving up levels. BSS also is very easy to work with when we need to cancel a session and book a makeup class.
